
It’s the weekend. Are you as excited as I am? With this cold weather in Cape Town, the best thing to do is get back under the duvet after fajr – something I don’t get to do on week days because I leave for work straight after.
This cold weather makes me miss the soup we had the first few nights, so I’ll be making big pot again on Sunday to last for next week.
But back to tonight. If you’ve been following this blog for a while, you’ll know I don’t like wasting food. I’d rather turn it into something else or give it away to someone who will eat it if I don’t want to. So there was some leftover ginger beer batter in the fridge which I managed to turn into feta fritters. And they turned out more than alright. In fact, I’ll share the recipe for this in a later post.
I also put some salticrax on the iftar table. They were topped with cream cheese and cocktail tomatoes.
After a light iftar, we had burgers for supper. It’s Friday after all. What better night to have them. I cut some potatoes into chips and fried as a side to the burgers.
I’m currently really full Alhamdulillah and trying to stay in the warmth of bed.
